I fell in love with you after I read 'English As A Global Language' in my school library (but I must confess I did some photocopy of it, I'm sorry for this --I could not find the book here in Nigeria). In fact, I have made you my role-model since then.
EAAGL has inspired me to write an article and I still use it as reference books. I anm in my village for a break now, but I will like to buy your WoW when it comes out. I love you because of your writings. Thank you and God bless!
WaleNigeriakanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10171396990604819500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8377709913595182916.post-1973912975906441862013-03-05T22:13:31.412+00:002013-03-05T22:13:31.412+00:00Dear David,

This is a great opportunity for us to read these books and I just wanted to let you know that you have done a great thing! I am not a fan of e-books but due to the circumstances mentioned above, this is the only way for me to find them. Thanks again for everything you have written and thus enabled students in Serbia to understand linguistics and the English language in a completely new and wonderful way!
Kind Regards,
SanjaSanjanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8377709913595182916.post-33819819417602377392013-03-03T15:52:50.714+00:002013-03-03T15:52:50.714+00:00Thanks for that link. Thanks for that link.DChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10192779827863835310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8377709913595182916.post-27739368300155418692013-03-02T18:35:19.552+00:002013-03-02T18:35:19.552+00:00Kory Stamper has an excellent post on grammar and ...Kory Stamper has an excellent post on grammar and National Grammar Day (it's a US thing), which I commend to everyone's attention.languagehathttp://www.languagehat.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8377709913595182916.post-22864580665194737772013-03-02T11:00:04.579+00:002013-03-02T11:00:04.579+00:00As you can imagine, WoW was the largest and most c...As you can imagine, WoW was the largest and most complicated book to input, but it's done now, and we hope to have it accessible in a couple of weeks.DChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10192779827863835310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8377709913595182916.post-60405514068279735592013-03-01T19:46:01.480+00:002013-03-01T19:46:01.480+00:00Can't wait to get a copy of Words on Words! Can't wait to get a copy of Words on Words!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02341330140084823857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8377709913595182916.post-71181855229476806802013-03-01T11:40:42.679+00:002013-03-01T11:40:42.679+00:00Thanks for writing about this.

English as a subject was divided into Literature and Language, and the Language section was all about its use and the development of what I now think of as a "grammar instinct". We did a lot of "exercises" (examples that showed different sorts of usage), often using samples from an old old grammar book called "High School English Grammar and Composition" or something like that by Wren and Martin. The emphasis in our school was always on using things correctly, not the names and rules. As a result, I don't always know the grammatical labels but have a very good ear for grammar, much better than many native speakers. vasudhahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05476400605251566161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8377709913595182916.post-6699524004038618002013-03-01T09:22:29.562+00:002013-03-01T09:22:29.562+00:00Thanks for this notification.
